Video Poker is a favored game that is able to be wagered on in casinos throughout the world, or in your house on your PC, through a net account. The rules are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player trying to achieve the highest combination of cards as you can in order to come away with money. On this account it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the line of contact with any other players. Of course, tactics employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and enthusiasts should now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.

After the bettor has chosen which cards he wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards are handed out if desired. The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.

Normally, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can change from game to game, so that knowledgeable bettors are able to select the most profitable machine every time.

Once the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that have been won. Further, some styles of the game allow the enthusiast a chance to double their wins, in which instance a further hand is played. There are also variations among specific machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
